Cortney and Erin met in college where they both were fortunate to study abroad and have shared a passion for travel and exploration ever since. Over the years, they haven't traveled nearly as much as they would like due to limited time, limited funds, and introverted tendencies which make it challenging to find a good travel group.

The two created OutGoingSolo in January 2022 during a regular phone conversation that went something like this:

"Like...I like being out but I don't necessarily need to be around people the whole time. But then you can't always travel everywhere by yourself, can you?"

"Right. I prefer solo trips because you can do whatever you want without judgment."

"But then what if you finally DO want to hang out?"

"We need a solo trip but, like, together."

And OutGoingSolo was born. Designed for everyone, but primarily for people who like to consider themselves outgoing and maybe a little awkward too.
